Inverter Chargers
An inverter charger does three jobs — make AC from DC, charge the bank from shore/grid, and switch sources — EGbatt builds them for RV, marine and off-grid where space and simplicity rule.
Overview
An inverter charger combines a pure-sine inverter, a multi-stage battery charger and an automatic transfer switch in one chassis. Shore or generator AC powers the loads and charges the LiFePO4 bank; when that source drops, the unit inverts from the battery and transfers the loads seamlessly. EGbatt builds inverter chargers matched to 12V/24V/48V LiFePO4 with a lithium charge profile and the AC input your RV, boat or cabin has. They are the right device when you want inverter and charger in one box without a separate hybrid unit.
Key specifications
Typical applications
- RV and marine: Shore/grid + battery.
- Off-grid cabins: Generator + bank.
- Backup: Automatic transfer.
- Mobile workshops: 12V/24V systems.
How to specify & buying guide
- Match voltage (12/24/48V) and the lithium charge profile to your bank.
- Size continuous and surge watts to the loads, especially motor starts.
- Confirm AC input (shore/generator) voltage and the transfer behaviour.
- Pair with an LFP-rated BMS for monitoring.
Engineering & manufacturing at EGbatt
Inverters and charge controllers are matched to the LiFePO4 voltage window and the BMS communication protocol. We validate MPPT tracking, THD, surge handling and the seamless grid/island transition your system design depends on.
Certifications & compliance
- UN38.3 — Mandatory lithium battery transport test (altitude, thermal, vibration, shock, external short). Required for any cross-border shipment.
- IEC62109
- CE — EU declaration of conformity for the applicable directives.
- RoHS — Restriction of hazardous substances in the battery and BMS.
Frequently asked questions
Inverter or inverter charger?
Inverter charger adds charging and transfer — best for RV/marine/off-grid with a shore or generator source.
Does it charge LiFePO4 correctly?
Yes, with a lithium charge profile; set it before use.
Will it switch to battery automatically?
Yes, the built-in transfer switch handles source loss.
What voltage should I pick?
12V small, 24V mid, 48V once loads pass a few kW.
