An MPPT controller is what turns panels into a properly charged LiFePO4 bank — EGbatt supplies them tuned to the LFP voltage window so you harvest more and damage nothing.

Overview

An MPPT (maximum power point tracking) charge controller converts the panel string’s higher voltage to the battery’s lower voltage at the maximum power point, recovering energy a basic PWM controller wastes. EGbatt builds MPPT controllers for 12V/24V/48V LiFePO4 banks with a lithium charge profile (absorb/float set to LFP, not lead-acid), temperature-compensated limits and the monitoring your system expects. They are the right device for off-grid and hybrid banks where the PV charges the battery directly rather than through a grid-tie inverter.

How to specify & buying guide

Engineering & manufacturing at EGbatt

Inverters and charge controllers are matched to the LiFePO4 voltage window and the BMS communication protocol. We validate MPPT tracking, THD, surge handling and the seamless grid/island transition your system design depends on.

Frequently asked questions

MPPT or PWM?

MPPT harvests more from the array, especially with a higher-voltage string; worth it for most LFP banks.

Will it charge LiFePO4 correctly?

With the LFP profile set; confirm before commissioning.

How do I size it?

From panel string Voc/Isc with cold-weather headroom and the bank's charge-current limit.

Does it talk to the BMS?

Higher-end units do via CAN/RS485; basic units just charge to the set points.
