100kWh Battery Energy Storage Cabinet
The 100kWh cabinet is the entry building block for commercial storage — EGbatt builds it as a floor-standing LiFePO4 unit for peak shaving and backup that parallels up to a site’s need.
Overview
A 100kWh cabinet is where most C&I storage projects start: a floor-standing LiFePO4 unit (typically 0.5C–1C, so 50–100 kW of power) that clips peak demand and backs up critical loads. EGbatt builds it with a PCS interface, monitoring, IP54 enclosure and the safety documentation (IEC62619, UL9540A support) your AHJ expects. Cabinets parallel to reach the site’s energy, and they are the natural stepping stone to liquid-cooled and containerised systems as density grows.
Key specifications
Typical applications
- Demand-charge clipping: Cut peak kW.
- Critical-load backup: Ride through outages.
- Small C&I sites: First storage step.
- Solar self-consumption: Commercial PV.
How to specify & buying guide
- Set power (C-rate) from the peak kW you want to clip; energy follows from backup hours.
- Confirm PCS rating and grid-code compliance for your utility.
- Plan the fire-suppression and UL9540A path with your AHJ early.
- Allow parallel cabinets for growth; keep cabling and monitoring consistent.
Engineering & manufacturing at EGbatt
C&I cabinets are engineered for 0.5C–1C throughput, shelf stacking and parallel expansion. We model thermal rise under sustained load, specify liquid or forced-air cooling accordingly, and provide the PCS interface, fire suppression and remote monitoring hooks your EPC team expects.
Certifications & compliance
- UN38.3 — Mandatory lithium battery transport test (altitude, thermal, vibration, shock, external short). Required for any cross-border shipment.
- IEC62619 — International safety standard for industrial Li-ion cells and batteries; expected by EU and most APAC buyers.
- UL1973 — North American safety standard for stationary lithium battery systems.
- UL9540A — Fire safety test method for ESS installations; often required by US authorities having jurisdiction.
- IEC63056 — Safety requirements for stationary lithium battery energy storage systems.
- CE — EU declaration of conformity for the applicable directives.
- IP54
Frequently asked questions
How many cabinets for my site?
From your peak shaving target and backup hours; we model it from the tariff and load.
What is the power rating?
0.5C–1C typical (50–100 kW); specify if you need more power per kWh.
Is it outdoor rated?
IP54 enclosure; confirm sheltered-outdoor siting with your AHJ.
Do you supply the inverter/PCS?
We integrate or match a PCS and document the interface.
