12V LiFePO4 Batteries
The 12V LiFePO4 battery is the direct, lighter, longer-lived drop-in for a 12V lead-acid bank — EGbatt builds them with an integrated BMS so your RV, boat or solar setup just works.
Overview
A 12V LiFePO4 battery runs at 12.8V nominal (four cells in series) and replaces a 12V AGM/GEL bank with a quarter of the weight, far deeper usable depth of discharge and 3–5× the cycle life. EGbatt builds 12V packs with an integrated BMS, standard terminals and the capacity your RV, trolling motor, solar or mobility application needs. The catch buyers miss: a LiFePO4 bank wants a lithium-profile charger and a DC-DC or MPPT that supports LFP — we spec that alongside the battery so the system is correct end to end.
Key specifications
Typical applications
- RV and camper: House bank, lighter and deeper.
- Marine and trolling: 12V cranking and house.
- Solar and off-grid: Small 12V banks.
- Mobility and mobility scooters: Drop-in replacement.
How to specify & buying guide
- Use a charger/DC-DC/MPPT with a LiFePO4 profile — a lead-acid charger will under- or over-charge the bank.
- Size Ah from daily kWh ÷ 12.8V, and allow for the higher usable DoD (80–90%) vs lead-acid (50%).
- Keep cable and fuse ratings for the higher LiFePO4 current capability.
- For cold charging, ask about low-temperature or self-heating variants.
Engineering & manufacturing at EGbatt
Our modules pair matched LiFePO4 cells with a purpose-built BMS, busbars and mechanical enclosure. We design for the thermal and vibration profile of the application — stationary rack, wall mount or mobile pack — and validate the assembly on capacity, IR balance and thermal runaway margin before it ships.
Certifications & compliance
- UN38.3 — Mandatory lithium battery transport test (altitude, thermal, vibration, shock, external short). Required for any cross-border shipment.
- IEC62619 — International safety standard for industrial Li-ion cells and batteries; expected by EU and most APAC buyers.
- CE — EU declaration of conformity for the applicable directives.
- RoHS — Restriction of hazardous substances in the battery and BMS.
- IP65 — Dust-tight and low-pressure water-jet resistant — suitable for outdoor enclosures.
Frequently asked questions
Will it replace my lead-acid battery directly?
Electrically yes at 12.8V, but your charger, DC-DC and solar controller should support a LiFePO4 profile.
How long does it last vs lead-acid?
Typically 2,000–5,000 cycles vs 300–500 for lead-acid — 3–5× the life.
Can I use my existing inverter?
Most 12V inverters work; confirm low-voltage cutoff matches LFP (≈10–11V), not lead-acid.
What capacity should I choose?
Daily kWh ÷ 12.8V, sized to 80–90% DoD; we can size it from your load list.
