Marine LiFePO4 Batteries
Boats punish batteries with splash, vibration and deep discharge — EGbatt builds sealed LiFePO4 marine banks that shrug those off and outlast the flooded cells they replace.
Overview
EGbatt marine batteries are 12V/24V LiFePO4 packs in sealed, splash- and vibration-rated enclosures for house banks and, where rated, starting duty. LiFePO4’s flat discharge curve means you get usable voltage down to a deeper state of charge than lead-acid, and it weighs a fraction — a real benefit for trim and payload. As with all LFP drops-ins, the charger and alternator regulator need an LiFePO4 profile, and we spec that alongside the battery.
Key specifications
Typical applications
- House bank: Lights, fridge, electronics.
- Trolling motor: Deep-cycle power.
- Electronics: Stable voltage to low DoD.
- Sail and power boats: Drop-in replacement.
How to specify & buying guide
- Use a marine/alternator charger with an LiFePO4 profile; a lead-acid alternator regulator can overcharge.
- Specify starting vs deep-cycle duty — they have different C-rate needs.
- Confirm the enclosure IP rating for its location (cockpit vs bilge).
- Size Ah from house load ÷ voltage at 80–90% DoD.
Engineering & manufacturing at EGbatt
Portable and specialty packs are built for shock, dust and temperature swing. We select cells and BMS for high-discharge and fast-recharge profiles, seal the enclosure to the right IP rating, and validate the pack through drop, vibration and thermal cycling.
Certifications & compliance
- UN38.3 — Mandatory lithium battery transport test (altitude, thermal, vibration, shock, external short). Required for any cross-border shipment.
- IEC62619 — International safety standard for industrial Li-ion cells and batteries; expected by EU and most APAC buyers.
- CE — EU declaration of conformity for the applicable directives.
- RoHS — Restriction of hazardous substances in the battery and BMS.
- IP67 — Dust-tight and immersion resistant up to 1 m — for harsh mobile or marine use.
Frequently asked questions
Can it start the engine?
Deep-cycle house banks differ from starting; tell us the cranking amps and we spec accordingly.
Is it safe near water?
Sealed, IP-rated enclosure; LiFePO4 is the safe chemistry.
Will my alternator charge it?
Only with an LiFePO4-compatible regulator; we spec the charging side.
How much lighter than lead-acid?
Roughly a quarter the weight for the same capacity.
