BMS & Communication Options

Every pack gets a BMS matched to the application: balancing, current limiting and thermal cut-off as standard; CAN bus, RS485, SMBus or Bluetooth for host telemetry. We hand over the protocol sheet so your firmware team can read SoC, temperature and fault codes directly.

How do I get a custom lithium battery pack made?

Send the basics: nominal voltage, capacity (Ah/Wh), maximum dimensions, target connector, communication bus (CAN/RS485/SMBus) and the certifications your market needs. EGbatt runs DFM review, builds a prototype, validates electrically and environmentally, then moves to mass production — typically 2–4 weeks to first article depending on complexity.

What is the MOQ for custom battery packs?

Prototypes start from 1–10 pcs. Mass production typically begins at 100–500 pcs; standard cell formats and enclosures can go lower. Volume is the dominant driver of per-unit price, so share your 12-month forecast up front.

How much does a custom lithium battery cost?

It scales with cell grade, BMS sophistication, mechanical enclosure and certification. Expect an NRE for tooling/validation plus a per-unit price that drops steeply with volume. We quote both separately so you can see exactly what you pay for.

What certifications do your batteries have?

Cells and packs are built to UN38.3 (transport), with CE, RoHS and IEC62133; UL1642/UL1973 on cells and optional CB, KC and PSE by market. Tell us the destination country and we map the exact mark list before production.

Which chemistries can you build?

LiFePO4 for safety- and cycle-life-critical jobs (energy storage, industrial), NMC for maximum energy density (portable/high-power), and cylindrical 18650/21700 or Li-Po for compact devices. We recommend the chemistry from your duty cycle, not the catalog.

What BMS and communication protocols do you support?

Smart BMS with active/passive balancing, over-current/over-temp/over-voltage protection, and host links over CAN bus, RS485, SMBus or Bluetooth; UART for OEM integration. We deliver the communication protocol document with every pack.
