There are two type of Lithium ion batteries in the market. 3.6v and 3.7v norminal. When design a 4S ( 4 in series) battery packs. Based on different norminal voltage. You will get 14.4 volt norminal( 4*3.6v). Or 14.8v (3.7 volt*4). Acturely, Based on this , 14.4 and 14.8 volt both are 4 li-ion battery in series.

While the other two types of batteries have to stick to a specific shape, so tools kind of have to be designed around them, the construction of Li-Ion batteries allows them to take on any form, so they can be physically designed to provide a tool with better balance and/or performance. And when it comes to storage and recharging, as long as you don’t store them in an environment which is too hot, you can pretty much use them any way you like because they don’t suffer from self-discharge or memory effect. Their charge/recharge cycle is also superior to the cycles of the other types of batteries. Best of all, unlike NiCd batteries, Li-Ion batteries do not damage the environment.

  1. Cost: NiMH is less than 50% of a lithium battery in terms of the final battery pack production price, and it is less than 75% of a lithium battery in terms of the development of the product. While NiMH has some regulatory and other development steps, it is still significantly less than lithium.
  2. Size: Lithium cells are lighter and smaller than Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) cells, however lithium cells only have an average of 1500mAh compared to the 2200 mAH average of NiMH cells.
